PRP Therapy at Luminè Clinic London — doctor-led aesthetic medicine by GMC-registered physicians

PRP Therapy

Your body's own regenerative power.

Overview

PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, harnesses your own biology to improve skin quality, tone and texture, and to support and stimulate the hair follicle.

A small sample of your blood is taken and processed in a sterile centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. These platelets are rich in growth factors, small signalling proteins that promote tissue repair and collagen production. The resulting plasma is then carefully reintroduced into the skin or scalp, where its growth factors stimulate the cellular processes responsible for healthier, firmer, more luminous skin and thicker, healthier hair. Because PRP comes entirely from your own blood, the risk of allergic reaction is extremely rare. At Luminè, we use a regulated PRP system, sterile technique and a doctor led protocol from blood draw to placement.

Why Luminè

Quality of preparation matters. We use a regulated PRP system, sterile technique, and a doctor led protocol from blood draw to placement, so the platelet concentration and handling meet medical standards. Hair loss also benefits from medical assessment, because many of its causes are treatable beyond PRP alone. We assess the underlying cause, not just the symptom.

Questions

Frequently Asked

Is PRP safe?

Because it uses your own blood, allergic reactions and rejection are extremely rare.

Does it hurt?

Topical numbing makes the treatment comfortable.

How many sessions are needed?

Usually three, spaced four weeks apart, followed by periodic maintenance.

When will I see results?

Subtle changes over weeks, with the full effect at around three months.

How is PRP different from filler?

PRP regenerates skin quality; filler restores volume. They address different things and often complement each other.

Will PRP work for hair loss?

It works best in early to moderate thinning where follicles are still active. We will tell you honestly if it is unlikely to help.
